La Isla Inn Hotel

Our family-owned hotel is located on the beautiful, still authentic Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, about 1 mile south of Puerto Viejo. We are situated directly at Playa Cocles nestled on a small coastal road between lush, tropical flora and fauna on one side and a pretty sandy beach on the other.

Over 15 years ago we fulfilled our dream of having our own hotel. We started with just a few, simple rooms and, over time, La Isla Inn, and what it has become, has grown. Our hotel consists of two recently built houses, constructed of beautiful wood, and a restaurant where you can enjoy the flavors of Caribbean-Costa Rican cuisine.

Playa Cocles

La Isla Inn is located at Playa Cocles, a beautiful sandy beach with a little island just off of the coastline. Playa Cocles is well known for its beach break during December and March. During these months the Caribbean Sea gets rough – perfect for surfing. The rest of the year it is calm with wonderful crystal and blue waters, just as you imagine the Caribbean Sea.
                                   
Playa Cocles fulfills the standards of the Blue Flag program, a program that rates the beaches of Costa Rica every year concerning their ecological and environmental condition.

By keeping our beaches clean you can help us to stick to the standards of the program and therefore take part in protecting our environment.
                          
La Isla Inn supports the local lifeguard program at Playa Cocles to make swimming at our beach safer. This program was established by some hotels of the area and the salaries of the young locals, who are trained as lifeguards, are paid entirely by donations. If you are interested in supporting this program, please contact our staff in the reception.

We hope that our guests, when they think of Costa Rica, not only associate it with breathtaking nature and versatile leisure activities, but that they also think of the cordiality of the people.
